APPROXIMATION OF ALMOST PERIODIC FUNCTIONS

Abstract: The base of this talk is to investigate the best approximation between, for instance,the vector space spanned by the functions { exp(2iakx) ; a1,...,an irrational } and
the continuous functions of period 1. First, a survey of the notion of almost periodicity will
be given and the general case of functions will be studied.
 
The last part is dedicated to the correspondence between the functions de ned on a locally
compact abelian group and the functions de ned on the associated Bohr group.
This is joint work with Noli REYES (University of the Philippines, Manila).
