Title: Bringing Reliability to the Cloud: Regenerating Codes for Distributed
Storage

Abstract: To increase reliability and reduce network congestion, data is
stored today in redundant form over a network.  Erasure codes are more
efficient at ensuring reliability in comparison to replication. Recently a
new requirement has been introduced into the set up, namely the need for
efficient regeneration of a failed node. This calls for a new approach to
code design. In this talk, we introduce the problem and present its
solution.
