10:00- 11:00: Modiï¬cations on complex surfaces

We compare Nash modiï¬cation and point blow-up on normal surfaces by 
giving conditions
for the factorization of one through the other. This is made by studying 
the ï¬xed points of
hyperplane sections and polarcurves in the modiï¬ed surfaces.

We shall show how one can study the topology of complex polynomials. We 
shall indicate what
can be known in the case of two variables.
