*The problem of cohomology for an Arakelov divisor.*

Abstract: We shall discuss Tate's Riemann-Roch theorem for number fields and
the peculiar nature that it implies for the cohomology of an Arakelov
divisor (that is, a divisor for the spectrum of a number field formally
completed at archimedean infinity).
