Dear all,

You are cordially invited to the seminar entitled " Monotone Dynamical
Systems and Applications " which will be given by Aysegul Kivilcim, from
Department of Mathematics, METU.

ABSTRACT:

Throughout the history of development of monotone dynamical systems,
Müller (1926) and Kamke(1932) were first mentioned about monotone
dynamical systems in their early works and the work of Krasnoselski
(1964,1968) has been very influential for the development of monotone
dynamical systems. However, not until the works of M.W. Hirsch were
monotonicity methods fully integrated with dynamical systems ideas. The
theory is very useful exceptionally for dynamics of populations if they
are competitive and cooperative.

We outlined basics of the theory via giving main definitions and
conditions which guarantee to preserve monotonic properties of
trajectories. We will also give some amount of information about
applications to problems in biology and biochemistry.
