Title: Mod 5 Icosahedral Representations and Applications to a
Conjecture of Artin
Abstract: In this talk, I will explain modularity of mod 5 icosahedral
representations of the absolute Galois group G_F of a totally real
field F, and prove many new cases of the strong Artin conjecture for
totally odd two-dimensional insoluble representations of G_F.
