**Invariants of Legendrian Knots*

Abstract: After a brief introduction on contact 3-manifolds and knots in
contact 3-manifolds, we will focus on a class of knots called Legendrian
knots. We will review known invariants for these knot types and we will
define new invariants for Legendrian knots. We will discuss the
applications and related open problems related to the new invariants.
