Abstract:

I will first talk about how orthogonal representations of groups can be used to construct free actions on products of spheres. Then I will discuss some known group theoretic restrictions for finding free actions on certain products of spheres. Finally I will talk about some recently employed methods for constructing free group actions on products of spheres.
