[Turkmath:9309] PhD positions in Statistical Machine Learning

Multiple assistantships positions are available to study statistical machine learning at the Computer and Information Science (CSCI) Department at Indiana University - Purdue University, Indianapolis (IUPUI). An ideal candidate should have a BS in CS/ECE/Math/Stats  and have a strong background in applied math in general and linear algebra, probability and random variables, Bayesian inference, linear/nonlinear optimization in particular. Intermediate level of  experience in core areas ofcomputer science such as programming and algorithm theoryis also required. 


The IUPUI campus, located in downtown Indianapolis, has a student population in excess of 30,000 and attracted more than $330 million in research funding in FY 12. The doctoral program at IUPUI Computer Science Department is managed by the Purdue University Department of Computer Sciences, which is currently ranked in the top 20 computer science programs in US by US News.

Admission requirements:
-  Seeking PhD candidacy
-  Undergraduate GPA of 3.5 (out of 4) or higher in CS/Math/Stats/ECE. GPA of 3.0 or higher may also be considered from select universities.
- An overall TOEFL IBT score of 79 or an IELTS band score of 6.5 is required.
