Twin prime conjecture: latest developments and Cole Prize

Cole Prize in number theory is awarded every three years by the American 
Mathematical Society. It has been recently announced that this prize in 
2014 will be shared by Yitang Zhang, Daniel Goldston, Janos Pintz and 
Yalçın Yıldırım for their outstanding contributions to the twin prime 
problem.

The twin prime conjecture is one of the famous open problems in 
mathematics and certainly the oldest, maybe 22 centruies old. It is also 
accesible to non mathematicians. I will talk about the contributions of 
the Cole Prize winners. All you need to know to follow my talk is how to 
multiply and divide whole numbers!
