Değerli Liste Üyeleri,
Hacettepe Üniversitesi Fen Fakültesi Matematik Bölümü Seminerleri
kapsamında, *Prof. Dr. Ergün YALÇIN (Bilkent Üniversitesi) 14 Kasım 2014
(Perşembe)* saat *15:00'*da Yaşar ATAMAN seminer salonunda "Finite group
symmetries of products of spheres" başlıklı bir seminer verecektir.
Konuşma ile ilgili detaylı bilgi aşağıda verilmiştir.
İlgili herkesi davet ediyoruz.
*Tarih:* 14 Kasım 2013, Perşembe
*Saat:* 15:00
*Yer:* Yaşar ATAMAN Seminer Salonu
*Başlık:* Finite group symmetries of products of spheres
*Özet:*
I will give a survey of problems and recent results on finite group actions
on products of spheres. The general problem in this field is to classify
all finite groups which can act freely on a product of k many spheres for a
given positive integer k. One of the classical conjectures states
that if a finite group acts freely on a product of k spheres, then the rank
of the group must be less than or equal to k. We recently proved a special
case of this conjecture with Osman Berat Okutan.
I will explain some of the ideas behind the proof.
Konuşma sonunda çay ve pasta ikramı olacaktır.
Saygılarımla,

Ergün YALÇIN (Bilkent University) will give a talk entitled with "Finite
group symmetries of products of spheres" .
We invite all the interested mathematicians.
*Date:* November 14, 2013 (Thursday)
