Koleji, Istanbul
§ *Title : *Difference Schemes for the Neutron Transport Equation**
§ *Abstract :** *The initial boundary value problem for the neutron
transport equation is considered. Positivity of the difference neutron
transport operator in a Banach space of all bounded grid functions is
proved. The positivity of the difference neutron transport operator in
Hölder space is proved. The first and the second order of accuracy
difference schemes for approximate solution of the neutron transport
equation are presented. Numerical techniques are developed and algorithms
are tested on an example in MATLAB.**
· *Speaker 2 : *Assist.* *Prof. Özgür Yıldırım, Yıldız Technical
University**
§ *Title : *On the Stability of High Order of Accuracy Difference
Schemes for Nonlocal BVPS with Self-Adjoint Operator
§ *Abstract :* In this study, third and fourth order of accuracy
absolutely stable difference schemes are considered for the nonlocal
boundary value hyperbolic problem for the differential equations in a
Hilbert space *H* with self-adjoint positive definite operator *A*. The
stability estimates for the solution of these difference schemes are
established. In practice, one dimensional hyperbolic equation with nonlocal
boundary conditions is considered. A numerical method proposed and results
of numerical experiments are presented in order to verify theoretical
statements.
*Date :* Monday, October 7, 2013
*Time : *15.00-17.00
