Galatasaray Üniversitesi Matematik Bölümü Seminerleri kapsamında 07 Mayıs (Çarşamba günü) saat 15.00'da FEF 10 nolu siniftaki konusmacimiz  Koc Üniversitesi'nden Tekin Dereli olacaktır. Konuşma ile ilgili detaylı bilgiler şöyledir:

Başlık: : Quarks: Who will prove the color confinement conjecture? Mathematicians or Physicists?

Özet: One of the seven Millenium Problems announced in 2000 by the Clay Foundation was the “mass  gap problem”. This problem is still open and concerns the proof of quark confinement conjecture, crucial for the success  of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) in sub-nuclear physics. After a quick, broad review of QCD as a quantized field theory, I want to comment on its asymptotic freedom and some consequences of UV-IR duality it implies.
