Title: Expander Graphs, Gonality of Curves and Galois Representations

Abstract:
In this talk, I will rst introduce expansion in graphs and an invariant of
algebraic curves (i.e. gonality). Then, using these notions, I will sketch
the proof
of a result stating that the images of certain Galois representations
varying in a
one-dimensional family are generically large.
