Cemile Nur from University of Nantes is going to give a talk entitled "On
the basis property of the root functions of Sturm-Liouville Operators with
general regular boundary conditions" at the Istanbul University Department
of Mathematics Colloquium. The talk will be in Turkish and its details are
given below. All interested are welcome.

*Başlık/Title*: On the basis property of the root functions of
Sturm-Liouville Operators with general regular boundary conditions


*Özet/Abstract: *In this talk, I will explain how to obtain asymptotic
formulas for the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Sturm–Liouville
operators with general regular boundary conditions. Using these formulas,
we find sufficient conditions on the potential q such that the root
functions of these operators do not form a Riesz basis.
