Boğaziçi Üniversitesinden Ayhan Günaydın, "Combinatorics, Model Theory and

*Title:* Combinatorics, Model Theory and Machine Learning

*Abstract:* We start by explaining VC-dimension which is a combinatorial
concept introduced by Vapnik and Chervonenkis in the setting of machine
learning. After giving enough examples, we relate VC-dimension with some
model theoretic notions. Finally, we return to machine learning and present
the use of VC-dimension in solving actual engineering problems.

We are aiming to be accessible to advanced undergraduate students and
graduate students.
