Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the workshop "*Branching from number theory:
p-adics in the scienc**es*" that will take place at the Max Planck
Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences, Leipzig, August 30 -- September
03, 2021.
The intention of this meeting is to study p-adic analogues of classical
(i.e. archimedean) topics, such as random variables and metric measure
theory, with a view toward applications in other areas of mathematics. The
workshop will feature mini-courses by Claus Fieker, Peter Schneider, and
Ngoc Mai Tran; a number of invited talks; and discussion sessions.
The registration is now open -- currently the event is planned to take
place in person. There is a limited number of allowed participants, but it
will also be possible to attend remotely.
