Postdoc Positions at Bilkent University:
I would like to advertise postdoctoral research positions in the Department
of Mathematics at Bilkent University in Ankara in the research group of
myself, Cihan Okay. The candidate is required to have a PhD in mathematics
or a related area such as physics or computer science. The theme of the
project is applications of topological methods to various questions arising
in quantum information and computation. For the quantum
foundations/information position the candidate will work on resource
theories including quantum contextuality, stabilizer quantum computation,
quantum correlations and their role in developing quantum algorithms,
understanding the computational power of quantum computers, and
applications to quantum cryptography. The algebraic topology connection is
based on the topological framework on quantum contextuality and
applications of classifying spaces for commutativity in Lie groups. For the
algebraic topology position familiarity with  simplicial homotopy theory,
category theory and computations of homotopical invariants would be a great
asset. Applicants outside of algebraic topology but with good knowledge of
graph theory, convex optimization theory or computational coding skills
