Title: Motivic cohomology theories and applications.

Abstract:
I will define motivic cohomology, and give an overview over its 
properties. Then I will discuss applications to arithmetic and algebraic 
geometry, focusing on special values of zeta-functions and class field 
theory. The talk is aimed at non-experts.
