*Konuşma Adı:* Safe chains of congruences between Galois representations: a
tool for modularity and functoriality

*Özet:* We will present the method of “safe chains” of congruences between
p-adic Galois representations, together with some applications of it to
proofs of modularity results and some cases of Langlands functoriality,
such as base change. We will also discuss the “Rayuela Conjecture” and its
relation with general modularity conjectures.

members of the Department of Algebra and Number Theory at Bilecik Seyh
Edebali University Faculty of Science, will host its next semester on *Tue,
Feb 3, 2026*. The event will be conducted online via Zoom.

The inaugural speaker will be *Luis Diulefait*, a faculty member at the
University of Barcelona, Spain. Details of the presentation are provided
