2027: "MATHEMATICS, AI AND OUR FUTURE"
Every year, we announce a theme to flavor the celebration, spark
creativity, and bring light to connections between mathematics and all
sorts of fields, concepts, and ideas.
The theme selected for the 2027 International Day of Mathematics is
"Mathematics, AI and Our Future".
The theme explores the role of mathematics as the foundation of
artificial intelligence and how mathematical ideas shape one of today's
most transformative technologies.
As AI becomes increasingly part of our everyday lives, the key question
is no longer only "What can AI do?" but also "What should it do?" How
can we trust the validity of its results? How will it influence
education, research, and society?
We invite everyone to explore how mathematics can help us understand,
guide, and responsibly develop AI, opening new ways to discover, create,
and shape the world around us.
