Atiyah-Bott index theorem and locally polynomial functions

Abstract: Let M be a compact complex manifold with a holomorphic line bundle L.
If the circle
group S1 acts as a group of symmetries on M, L, we can associate two invariants
to this situation:
1) a locally polynomial measure on the real line (the Duistermaat-Heckman
measure);
2) a function on Z associated to the representation of S1 in the space of
holomorphic sections of L.
We will discuss these two invariants and relate them.
