Title: Two notions of complex dimension for a real analytic set in a 
complex analytic manifold
 
Joint work with J. Adamus and R. Shafikov (the University of Western
Ontario).
 
Abstract:
Given a subset $X$ of a complex analytic manifold $M$, it is natural to
ask how much of the ambient complex structure it does inherit.
I will discuss the behaviour two notions of complex dimensions at a
point $p$ in the case when the subset $X$ is a real analytic (or
algebraic) set: the inner complex dimension (the largest complex
dimension of a complex analytic germ at $p$ contained in $X$) and the
holomorphic closure dimension (the smallest complex dimension of a
complex analytic germ at $p$ containing the germ of $X$ at $p$).
