Title: Holomorphic sectional curvature and rational/elliptic curves on
algebraic surfaces 2

Abstract: We will discuss the (partly conjectural) arithmetic and
geometric consequences of the existence of hermitian metrics with
negatively bounded holomorphic sectional curvature on complex
surfaces.
