TITLE: Linear Tropicalizations 

ABSTRACT: Tropical
geometry is a rapidly developing subject with applications both to
classical geometric problems and to other seemingly unrelated topics. In
this talk, I will review various different ways to approach tropical
geometry and afterwards describe our results with Hakan Güntürkün on
linear tropicalizations.
