TITLE: 

 A Survey on the Numerical Analysis of
Turbulence Models

ABSTRACT: 

Many fluid flows occurring in nature and
various engineering
applications are turbulent. Predicting and
understanding these flows are
scientific of interest. The Navier-Stokes
equations (NSE) probably contain
all of turbulence. Mathematical
modeling of turbulence is related with the
modeling of Navier Stokes
equations based on physics of the flow. Using
additional terms in the
discretized incompressible NSE is one way to model
turbulent flows. In
this talk, a survey on selected turbulence models and
some of the
numerical experiments based on the model called Variational
Multiscale
Method will be presented.
